Shils Fund Announces New Board Members : Dr. Reena Gajjar, Abe Kasbo and Megan Lohman
New York, NY – [September 25, 2024] – The Dr. Edward B. Shils Entrepreneurial Fund, a leading organization dedicated to advancing oral health, entrepreneurship, and innovation in the dental and medical fields, is proud to announce the addition of three distinguished new board members: Dr. Reena Gajjar, Megan Lohman, and Abe Kasbo. These esteemed leaders bring a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and innovation to the Shils Fund, further enhancing the organization’s mission and expanding its impact in the industry and the healthcare and dental entrepreneurship community.
Dr. Reena Gajjar: a Prosthodontist and visionary entrepreneur, has founded and scaled multiple businesses across the dental, technology, education, and aesthetic sectors. Known for her data-driven decision-making and innovative approach, Dr. Gajjar built one of North America’s most successful dental implant training companies and pioneered patient education software in the dental field. A graduate of Harvard Business Analytics, AI, and Data Science programs, Dr. Gajjar’s contributions to the Shils Fund will focus on advancing innovation and strategic growth.
Abe Kasbo: Abe Kasbo is Founder and CEO of Verasoni, a marketing communications advisory, consultancy, and agency. Founded in 2005, the innovative firm delivers meaningful, integrated marketing communications strategies to Fortune 500, middle-market, and startup clients in the US and around the world. He is immediate past Chair and current board member of the Center of Innovation & Entrepreneurial Studies at Seton Hall University. Abe serves as Chair of Awareness Foundation America, supporting Awareness Foundation UK, which works to uplift the lives of children and families devastated by war in Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq.
Abe founded Only One Toothbrush – a philanthropic effort to help improve the oral health of Syrian refugees in Germany. Abe’s work has been featured in major media in the US and around the globe. He is a sought-after speaker on branding, marketing, digital transformation and ecommerce, digital media, and business competitiveness.
Abe was recognized by the Governor of Michigan as an Economic Bridge Builder in 2015. He was inducted into the Seton Hall University Entrepreneur Hall of Fame in September 2018 and holds a master’s degree in public administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Seton Hall University.
Megan Lohman: Megan created a turnkey solution that combines a powerful yet easy to understand software that offers a guided approach with proven results. Prior to Plan Forward, Megan gained experience in the business world in sales, marketing, and staffing and recruiting, and even spent a few years as the first employee of a startup. It was by accident that she fell into dentistry where she experienced first-hand the need for dental insurance alternatives for patients. With an entrepreneurial mindset and love of a challenge, Megan shifted her focus to building Plan Forward, seeking to build and deliver high-quality software to dental teams that would streamline and automate dental membership plans. Meg was a highly valued contributor as a Panelist at the Shils Fund Great Oral Health Pitch event at the prior Chicago Midwinter meeting
