Dr. Ashley Lerman (@pediatric.dentist.mom), a pediatric dentist, mom, public health science-communicator, and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, earned her degree from Columbia University and specialized in pediatrics, public health, and special needs at Columbia-New York Presbyterian. She founded Firstgrin, focused on improving oral and dental health alongside preventing dental disease, which has served over 200,000 families. Firstgrin provides introductory oral care kits for new and expecting parents alongside an Oral Care Companion app, delivering health-literate, evidence-based information. The initiative aims to prevent disease in vulnerable populations, combat childhood cavities—the #1 chronic disease in kids—and enhance maternal oral health, which is linked to systemic outcomes for both mom and baby. Dr. Lerman is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association.
