Arthur Mateen is the Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Bien Air USA, Inc. Mr. Mateen has been in his current position for the past 26 years. Bien Air is the world’s largest manufacturer of electric handpieces for dental applications. Headquartered in Switzerland, Bien Air operates wholly owned subsidiaries in 11 countries and sells product into more than 80 countries worldwide.
Mr. Mateen is responsible for the North American subsidiary located in Irvine, CA. Bien Air USA provides advance technologies products to 50 US and Canadian dental schools.
Mr. Mateen is on the board of advisors for University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, High Point University, Workman school of Dentistry and University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Mr. Mateen is a member of the Executive committee of CRET (Center for Research & Education in Technology) and the ADEA (American Dental Educational Association) corporate council. Mr. Mateen is an executive member of David Mosimann Foundation based in Bienne, Switzerland. During the past 20 years, the foundation has provided donations more than $35 million to dental schools worldwide.
Over the past 18 years, Mr. Mateen has worked very closed with the Deans and Faculty of dental school to implement programs to train students with skills necessary in the changing dental provider network. Currently working with UCLA and other dental schools to provided student training at local FQHCs and DSOs.
Previous to Bien Air, Mr. Mateen was the Program Manager for Dupont/Syncor providing Nuclear Pharmaceuticals to hospitals and clinics for Cardiac, Cancer and PET Scanning. During his tenure at Dupont/Syncor Mr. Mateen assisted 120 Nuclear Pharmacies in many operational areas.
